ReWilding the Soul: 9th-11th September 2016

Through our waking and sleeping lives, we are assailed by scripts: by the voices in our head telling us we’re not good enough, not trying hard enough, not clever enough, not successful enough, not spiritual enough, don’t mediate enough… and by the more insidious attitudes and belief systems that create the structure and texture of our days: the world is hard; humanity is evil; however hard we work, we are never going to change things…

Our thoughts, our beliefs, our attitudes  – all arise from a complex mix of the environment we grew up in and our interaction with it.  We are changing, or we wouldn’t be practicing a spiritual path, but the change can often feel uphill, agains the inevitable vicissitudes of fate and our own internal saboteurs and judges.

Learning to step beyond the scripts, to find the joy in the world can not only transform our practice and our lives, it can change our energy, our DNA, the legacy we leave to future generations so that they don’t have to grow with the same inner textures we inherited.

The intent of this workshop is to explore the ways we can connect to the wild joy of the universal heart mind in a way that feels authentic, grounded, rooted in our own life’s experience, so that we can embody it daily, hourly, in the never-ending now and let go of the scripts and self beliefs.

I have never written anything that sounded so much like a self-help book… but if the language has been appropriated, it doesn’t mean the reality is not valid.  We limit ourselves. We don’t have to.  Nobody can say where the unlimited version of ourselves is going, but it has to be better than walking the same old, same old for the rest of our lives. It won’t happen in two days, but we can open the doors and start on the path.
